We’re looking for world class ICT professionals to lead the development and support of innovative technologies that are at the centre of our Policing Excellence initiatives. You can find out about what it’s like to work for us, our culture and our roles below.

Leading the world

Since 1840, the New Zealand Police has worked to protect Kiwis and their communities. And along with providing police services to protect the community, we’re making a name for ourselves internationally for innovation in technology.

Technology enhances so many things in the world – communication, efficiency, productivity. But at the New Zealand Police, there’s one more important thing we’re using technology to improve: community safety.  At the heart of everything we do is our Policing Excellence programme, with its focus on preventing crime before it occurs and putting victims at the centre of our thinking.  New Zealand is leading the world in developing technology systems to help our staff carry out job-critical tasks while in their communities and now we need your help to drive us forward.

Our long-term ICT strategy is laid out in our Information and Systems Strategy and Roadmap (ISSR). This is a blueprint for our future development and use of technology to manage information, and move policing into the future.  New Zealand Police is leading the world in implementing technology to help our officers perform at their best, and now we need your help to drive us forward.
